Two Sore Backs

We have spent the last three days in Kelowna. We backtracked from Nelson, stopping at Osoyoos to visit Kip and Sierra. Unfortunately we missed catching up with Tree this trip.

Friday morning (June 9), joined by Cara and Cailyn’s partner Dan, we attended the UBCO convocation to cheer on Cailyn as she received her BSN. Congratulations Cailyn!

We celebrated with a wonderful meal in downtown Kelowna at ‘Salt and Brick’.

The nurses host a second event, ‘Class of 2023 Rose Ceremony’ held on Saturday. This ceremony is more personal for sure. One recurring theme was the joy of the first pay cheque and no longer ‘working for free’. Amazingly most of the graduates are already working and many have passed their professional RN exam as well 👏🏻 ! Cailyn’s nursing bestie Alanna joined Cailyn on stage for the group photo. Both nurses are working at Kelowna General on 3E (medical / surgical ward).
